City Council Member Corey Johnson won re-election to his District 3 seat with 93.76 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results of the Nov. 7 general election from the city’s Board of Elections.

Johnson won 24,639 votes out of 26,279 total ballots cast. Johnson’s only general-election challenger, Marni Halasa of the Eco Justice Party, won 5.66 percent of the vote.

Johnson is among the favorites to be chosen by his Council colleagues as the city legislature’s Speaker.

In the citywide races, Mayor Bill de Blasio, Public Advocate Letitia James and Comptroller Scott Stringer each won re-election by wide margins. Winning 66 percent of the vote, de Blasio becomes the first Democrat to win consecutive terms as mayor since Ed Koch, who held the office from 1978 to 1989. Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer won a second term with 83 percent of the vote. A New York state ballot measure to hold a constitutional convention was soundly defeated, with 83 percent voting against the proposal.
