Man harassed by High Line securityA 23-year-old man reported that he was harassed by someone who claimed to be High Line security while in the park at the northeast corner of 10th Avenue and West 15th Street on Thursday, July 12 at 10:10 p.m. The victim said that he was smoking in the park when the suspect went up to him and said, “You can pay the $250 fine or you can rub me out.” The victim said that he called security about the incident and they told him that the man had been fired.

Man arrested for stolen bikePolice arrested a 23-year-old man for stealing a bike from in front of 308 Eighth Ave. on Thursday, July 12 around 8:30 p.m. Police said that the victim pointed out the suspect to officers that were in the area because the suspect had stolen his bike by using bolt cutters to remove the chain. The victim said that he was working out at the gym nearby when the bike was stolen and the bike was recovered when the suspect was arrested.

Woman choked in Seventh Avenue buildingA 41-year-old woman reported that her boyfriend choked her inside her apartment at 419 Seventh Ave. on Thursday, July 12 at 8:30 p.m. The victim told police that her boyfriend took a bottle of her medication and when she tried to stop him, he grabbed her by the throat, causing her to choke. As the suspect was leaving the apartment, the victim said that she tried to follow him into the hallway but he reportedly pushed her down, causing a cut on her forehead.

Woman arrested for assaulting bar managerPolice arrested a 23-year-old woman for allegedly assaulting a manager at the Polynesian Tiki Bar inside the Pod Times Square Hotel at 400 West 42nd St. on Friday, July 13 at 11:35 p.m. The 32-year-old victim told police that the suspect punched her in the face and scratched her on the chest with her fingernails, in addition to grabbing her arm and causing bruising. Police did not have further information about what prompted the incident.

Woman arrested for assaulting teenA 48-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly assaulting a teenager inside the 14th Street/Eighth Avenue subway station on Saturday, July 14 at 7:30 p.m. The victim told police that she and the suspect got into an argument while on an uptown E train and when the victim got off the train at 14th Street, the suspect followed her onto the mezzanine. Police said that the suspect pulled the 14-year-old girl to the ground by her hair and kicked her repeatedly in the stomach.

Newspaper bundles stolenAn employee at K&K Convenience Store at 364 West 23rd St. reported on Saturday, July 14 at 6:15 a.m. that an unknown person has been stealing newspapers from the business every morning recently. The victim told police that the suspect has been stealing bundles of the New York Post, the New York Daily News and The New York Times and that the total value of the bundles is $120. Security cameras at the location have been unable to catch the suspect stealing the papers.
