Taxi driver punchedA taxi driver reported that he was assaulted while he was driving near the southeast corner of 10th Avenue and West 18th Street on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 9:10 p.m. The driver, 43, told police he was on West 18th Street when an unknown man ran up to the driver’s side of his taxi, opened the driver’s door and punched him in the face. The cab driver told officers the suspect said, “That’s for almost hitting us with your car.” The driver was left with cuts and a bloody lip and was taken to Lenox Hill Healthplex.

Teen, father in fightAn 18-year-old woman told police that she was assaulted by her father inside 288 10th Ave. on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. Police responded to a call from a third party about a dispute, and the victim at first told police that she had been trying to separate a fight between her father and her sister’s boyfriend when she was accidentally pushed to the ground, cutting her nose and injuring her hand. Her father gave officers a similar account and then left. Once he had left, though, the woman told police her father had assaulted her but was fearful of telling police while he was still present. The woman was treated at Bellevue Hospital.

Fire escape escapade Police arrested a 27-year-old man for criminal trespass inside 503 West 22nd St. on Friday, Sept. 28 at 4:11 p.m. Police received a call about a suspicious person and officers located the man on the fire escape. Police said he was highly uncooperative. A building resident and a witness told police that the man, whose name was not released, had been looking into an apartment window from the fire escape. Police said he doesn’t live in the building.

Seafood theft Police arrested a 50-year-old man for stealing multiple bags of frozen shrimp and smoked salmon from the Whole Foods at 250 Seventh Ave. on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 4:30 p.m. Police said the man took the seafood, worth a total of $94, and put them in a bag before trying to leave the store without paying.

Assault, arrest at 10th Ave. barPolice arrested a 32-year-old man for assaulting a 25-year-old man inside The Park at 118 Tenth Ave. on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 3:15 a.m. The victim told police that the suspect, a bouncer at the club, was removing him from the location and in the process, caused cuts to his elbows and redness on his neck. He said that the suspect also broke his phone.

Woman harassed through calls, social mediaA 33-year-old woman reported that a man she knows began making unsolicited calls and sending unsolicited texts to her between Monday, Aug. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 29 while she was in her West 42nd Street apartment. She told police that the 33-year-old man also harassed her via Facebook and Instagram and that he made over 1,000 calls during that time.
