Taking a Friendship Walk

Hundreds of people showed up to celebrate individuals with special needs last Sunday. Every year, the local nonprofit organization Friendship Circle Upper East Side hosts a Friendship Walk and Carnival to raise awareness and support for the special needs community in what has become a beloved community event.

“This year it was more essential than ever to come together in unity after the difficult year of social isolation that many have experienced, particularly families of children with special needs,” said Friendship Circle Director Sara Gutnick. “Thank you to everyone that supported and continues to support our special community. With your help we successfully raised $250,000. These funds will enable us to offer vital programming and services to our community. We hope even more people will join us at next year’s Friendship Walk and street carnival on May 22, 2022!”
