Jorge Peguero, 54, owned a bodega on 3rd Ave. in Brooklyn. His one true love, Vinicia (Dolores) Baez, 43, owned a hair salon just a few blocks away, at 11th St. and 5th Ave. It had all the makings of a heartwarming sitcom. Except, of course, for Jorge's insane and explosive jealous rages.

A few weeks ago, Ms. Baez finally decided that five years was plenty long enough to have put up with his nutter ways, and she broke things off. Jorge refused to believe she wouldn't want to date him anymore, and took to his new role as "murderous ex-boyfriend" quite well, lurking around the shop and yelling things at her.

Then at about 11:30 Monday morning, he left his bodega, strolled over to the salon, and asked Baez if they could talk a minute. She brought him into the back room, where he shot her in the head, then did the same to himself.
