Volunteer shifts are available Monday through Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Volunteers must commit to a minimum of 5 shifts a week or 4 full days during the full 4 weeks of the program.

Animal Care Center of NYC

Manhattan Animal Care Center

326 East 110th St.

nycacc.org

At the Animal Care Center of NYC, volunteers play a major role in caring for the animals. Primarily, they interact with the shelter pets to help provide them with exercise, attention, comfort and socialization. All of this builds their trust with humans and helps them become adopted. Volunteers may also be asked to help maintain the kennels, take photographs, write pet bios, assist in adoption counseling, join outreach efforts and provide administrative assistance.
