2 Cop Cars Set On Fire In Flatiron

No suspects arrested but police theorize that cars caught fire from garbage fire

Two marked police cars were set on fire in the Flatiron District the night of Monday, March 20.

The incident was reported around 8:35pm. A suspect approached the two cars at that time and ignited them. According to NYPD, the flames may have spread from garbage the individual initially set on fire.

The cars were parked in front of 45 West 29 Street when they were set aflame. FDNY officials extinguished the fire.

NYPD says that no arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
