Police are still seeking the public’s help in nabbing a group of individuals who brutally attacked a 14 year old male youth by taunting him with anti-gay slogans before punching, kicking and slamming the victim’s head into the ground in the vicinity of West 23rd St. and Eleventh Ave.
The victim said he did not know his attackers but one of them was said to be an acquaintance of the victim on social media, and police released that picture via Crimestoppers. He was described as about 5’ 9” in height with a thin build and dark colored eyed and dark colored hair and police said they believe he resides in New Jersey.
According to police, a large group of people had gathered in the vicinity of W. 23rd and Eleventh Ave. on April 13th, including the victim at around 7:30 pm.
”Three individual approached the victim and made anti-sexual orientation remarks,” according to police.
In the brutal attack, police said that the trio “proceeded to punch and kick the victim multiple times about the body” and also “slammed the victims head against the ground.”
The victim was said to have sought medical attention through a private doctor.
The NYPD’s hate crime task force is investigating the incident.
