A man paid for an item advertised on craigslist with counterfeit bills. At 4:57 PM on Thursday, August 8, a 35-year-old man met a 25-year-old man at the northeast corner of Second Avenue and East 59th Street to sell a Canon EF lens he had advertised on craigslist, valued at $1,200. The two men made the deal, but when the seller got to his bank afterwards, the teller told him that the bills he had been paid with were counterfeit.
