Gunpoint Robbery in Hell’s Kitchen: Several Migrants Charged, Then Released
The migrant crisis returned to Hell’s Kitchen in the form of a gunpoint robbery, allegedly perpetrated by four young men. And according to one news source, three of the four were wanted by ICE.
On Feb. 4, 2026, at approximately 11:30 p.m., police responded to a robbery in front of 441 West 47th Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues, within the confines of the Midtown North Precinct.
A 57-year-old man reported that five males, acting in concert, approached him and a 47-year-old woman. Three of the suspects displayed firearms. One suspect pointed a firearm at the male victim while another removed a cellphone from his pocket.
The suspects also demanded property from the female victim; no property was taken from her. The suspects fled eastbound on West 47th Street.
Following a canvass, four males were apprehended and taken into custody. Two imitation firearms and one actual firearm were recovered. The following individuals, all living in or near the Far Rockaway section of Queens, were arrested and charged:
Eduardo Wilson; 18-year-old male, 29-35 Gerson Court.
Emerson Valenzuela, 20-year-old male, 29-25 Gerson Court.
Edwin Ramos, 18-year-old male, 13-33 Eggert Place.
Christopher Serrano, 18-year-old male, 1866 Far Rockaway Boulevard
This last address doesn’t exist. At press time, it’s unclear where the error originated. Though Far Rockaway Boulevard is real, running east west mid-peninsula from Beach Channel Drive to Ocean Crest Boulevard with a slight jog where it crosses Rockaway Freeway under the elevated A/S subway train, that building number is incorrect. The other two adresses are of a house and an apartment building, respectively, neither of which appear are city run migrant shelters.
It’s worth highlighting that the target rich environment of Hell’s Kitchen and adjacent Times Square was apparently worth the long trip from Far Rockaway, at least before they were arrested on charges included Robbery; Criminal Possession of a Weapon; Criminal Possession of Stolen Property; and Menacing.
In most cases, the story would have ended there and not been reported. But an independent journalist who posts on X as ViralNewsNYC found out about it. According to his sources, three of the four suspects had extant ICE detainers on them.
