Tumultuous as Times Square can be above ground, there remains a substantial amount of crime and disorder in the subway too. As much as cops try to contain the mayhem, they can’t catch every perpetrator before or after they strike, thus their plea to the public for assistance in identifying the man wanted in connection with an assault of an MTA worker that occurred within the confines of the Midtown South Precinct/Transit District 1. Details are as follows:
It was reported to police that on Monday, Aug. 24, 2026, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a 30-year-old male MTA employee was on-duty and stationed on the platform at the Times Square-42nd Street subway station, when an unidentified individual engaged the victim in a verbal dispute.
The argument turned physical and the suspect displayed a sharp object and stabbed the MTA employee in the left arm, causing him to sustain a severe laceration. The victim was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was listed in stable condition. The attacker fled on a southbound 1 train, traveling to parts unknown.
The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue shorts, a black book bag, and white sneakers.
Sexual Abuse While Waiting for the N Train
Cops are also asking for help identifying the sicko wanted in connection with a sexual abuse incident that also occurred within the confines of the Midtown South Precinct/Transit District 1. Details are as follows:
It was reported to police that on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, at approximately 10:13 p.m., a 19-year-old female victim was standing on the N train southbound platform at the Times Square-42nd Street subway station when she was approached by an unidentified individual.
The predator then grabbed the victim’s groin over her clothing. The victim pulled away and the individual then boarded a southbound 3 train and fled to parts unknown. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
The suspect is described as a medium-complexioned male with a bushy salt-and-pepper beard. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie jacket, black pants, black shoes, a black baseball cap with a white NY logo, a backpack, and what appears to be a square-shaped smartwatch with a white frame.
